Aventis Pharma notched up volume of 55,000 shares, a 9.4-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 6,000 shares. The stock lost 0.2% to Rs 2,245. Ajanta Pharma clocked volume of 1.37 lakh shares, a 6.9-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 20,000 shares. The stock jumped 7.19% to hit record high of Rs 400.05. Piramal Healthcare clocked volume of 2.37 lakh shares, a 5.42-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 44,000 shares. The stock rose 0.75% to Rs 441.60 after the company said it would buy a further 5.5% stake in Vodafone's India unit from Essar for about Rs 3007 crore, taking its total stake in the cellular services provider to about 11%. UltraTech Cement clocked volume of 42,000 shares, a 4.18-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 10,000 shares. The stock surged 5.1% to Rs 1,339.65 after the company reported strong cement dispatches for the month just gone by.
